Trader and Non-Trader
recent lobby split showed huge interest in splitting lobbys into trader and non-trader queues. just try it for the next wipe or whatever. as soon as you buy the traders license, this character will only match with other trader players. all the non-traders will stay together.

THIS IDEA IS AMAZING, the fact people can just Hide in corners every match just to stock pile gold to sit in trade to buy bis statted gear is so boring. when people like me love the idea of making my character stronger and feel them get stronger with all the new gear i FIND is just so much more enjoyable. getting on shot by a dude who found a golden key and bought all his gear is just not it. i get some people the one shotting is soooo much fun but wouldnt it be better if you made the character stronger rather than pay to win it to be that strong? also take crossbows away from fighters they are already hard to kill with 80%+ PDR lmfao. -

<Hidden>There should also be a feature that if you queue into a match with someone in your party who can trade, this would result in your character being flagged as a trade account, albeit you still need to purchase the trade license. Getting carried by those who can trade, or drop-traded items to your non-trader character from someone who purchased them, is completely unfair. The mentioned feature would prevent a black market of goods and services for transactions between the different character types.

<Hidden>You can also have a warning message when attempting to ready up informing you someone in your party can trade and your character will be affected because of it.

<Hidden>yes something like that should def be the rule. got into a lobby with non-trade? ok but now youre trade too. just make the traders license free

<Hidden>The entire issue with trade isn't trading itself, it's gear impact. Gear scales players way, way too high so a player with purchased gear is nearly unstoppable.
This change would only hide that issue. -

<Hidden>Testing this is a no brainer! This is the testing phase and it makes sense to test it. SSF is absolutely great when done right and you're already 90% of the way there. The option to also take your SSF into the trader lobbies should also be tested at the same time. Also just a quicky about silver, what if we all had to find silver in the SSF lobbies and use them to pay for the entry fee in HR? Anyway thanks for a top tier experience, I come from DayZ, never played tarkov and this game really gets my nipples hard. Cheers.

<Hidden>Great idea.... for a different game.
Terrible idea for dark and darker.
If you don't like trading or gear then just go make your own melee combat BR game, stop trying to make dark and darker something it's not
Make a downvote button for these shit ideas. -

I don't think I've seen a more ignorant, completely missing the point, comment in all of my many years of gaming. -

<Hidden>This is a terrible idea and you should feel bad for posting it.
Completely ignoring the numerous problems it creates, it betrays the developer's vision for the game. You know, the vision which got you and 50k others to play? -

<Hidden>I dunno about WorstEver but I played the game before there was even a trader and I'm pretty sure that playtest popped the fuck off. I think you're just against the idea because you're scared of playing against people with equivalent or better gear than you. Sitting in trade chat for several minutes so you can go on a run is BORING. I like the more roguelike gameplay loop and being attached to the gear I find. Which is an actual reasoning unlike the pointless whining you've been posting.

<Hidden>SSF and what you can find on merchants is literally an ode to Dungeons and Dragons. The DM never just lets you have access to all the best gear in the game. Its fine if people want to use it and play that way, but there is a huge contingent of people who would stay and continue t play BECAUSE of SSF, but those who just buy kits and lose it and have no fear of loss, are also the ones who will likely leave first because they lose the joy in the game. I have a friend who wound up with a bunch of gold and could buy all the kits he wanted, and he lasted 1 week after that because gear lost its value.
The dopamine hit of finding an upgrade in the dungeon and building out your kit is the best part of this game. I also played pre-trader and think it was a much more enjoyable game. Trade creates gold sellers which creates pay to win. -

<Hidden>This is a great idea, i enjoy just finding things in the dungeon and hate trading as its a waste of time!
Devs please make this happen <3 -

<Hidden>Sure, try it for the sake of testing. But the reality is this: Casual/Unskilled VS Hardcore/Skilled. It is by nature a competitive game and a lot of people don't want that competitiveness. It might not be the game for them.
I already play without using the trade section and I still get juiced up from what I find in the dungeon and from merchants now (they sell solid blues sometimes). So the issue of juiced up players kicking your ass isn't going to change just because you're in a non-trade lobby. -

<Hidden>@Gilbert in the above message from today, same i dont use trader and still get juiced and know there will still be juiced teams. But the best take away I see with it is that if you do get rolled it is by someone that earned their kit by surviving not by someone who just spend all day in the trader or by someone having things just given to them for being a streamer or apart of someones specific discord.

<Hidden>Anyone against this idea loves farming timmies on a rogue with +20 weap dmg, change my mind. There are 0 legitimate concerns being expressed other than "this is the worst idea ever". How does this go against the creators vision? Name an actual reason as to why this idea wouldn't work? People who want to trade can still play versus anyone who wants the same, the only difference is you can't farm SSF-players and timmies.

<Hidden>The whole "git gud" doesn't apply. The problem is people who actually NEED to git gud are the ones overcompensating for their lack of skill and rolling over timmies. So yeah you're right but not in the way you think you are. Like I said, anyone against this has no valid reason for it.

<Hidden>My crew and I only have a couple hours to play per day at best, and whenever we manage to scrape together a decent mildly itemized kit over the course of a couple weeks and decide to do a kitted run, we got curb stopped by BiS meta teams that bought spent 10k+ on the trade post. The most fun fights in this game are low kit v low kit, this idea is well worth testing to see if it mitigates the curb stop timmies in BiS meta.

<Hidden>This is hardly a solution, people upvoting this will just be ready to throw a fit again when they still get rolled by full purple teams, it’s incredible easy to have a couple good HR runs, take that gear into this dumbass bandaid lobby and get stomped just as hard. THIS IS NOT a solution, it’s an even worse bandaid than the ones we’ve had before. We need actual balancing of classes, spells, weapons, etc. cleric and barbarian specifically, and bards movement and attack speed song(s) are easily one of the most problematic things in the game. The main thing they could do to balance is just nerf the hell out of gear, it doesn’t need to be so strong, people running around with +20 Weapon Dmg and 60+ PDR is the problem, combine it with busted skills like Rage (which honestly needs gutted) and spells like protection (remove it or gut it) you become unkillable to the average player, THAT IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE WITH THIS IDEA, PLS GET REAL PPL , THIS IDEA SUCKS

<Hidden>Game was better when there was no trade post.
Lets see how skillful you really are without your bought items that took 0 effort.
You guys who like trading can keep your RMT. -
21 Oct, '23
<Hidden>THIS and also give us an account stash so we can send excellent drops to our other characters. we have enough character slots to make whatever classes we want to play. put limits/timers on the shared stash if you're worried about abuse or whatever. It's an idea.
I'd love to try all kinds of different classes and gear. I'd rather send stuff to myself or drop it to a friend in raid rather than worry about how much gold i can get from a cool item on a market. -

<Hidden>It would be fun, I hate trading because it's boring and slow. And also people try to scam you, obviously. It ruins the momentum of playing the game itself.
Needless to say, it's also not fun to fight people rolling lobbies with BIS gear. This solves both problems! It's the best suggestion me and my friends have seen yet. -
21 Oct, '23
<Hidden>No this is another bandaid fix. Fixing gear gap and HR participation is the way forward.

<Hidden>Mark all traded items as "traded" and make a seperate mode to queue up without those items. This way you can still sell your goodies and play both modes with a single char

<Hidden>So what happens when someone mines the best gear and you guys are still upset? Honest question
-
22 Oct, '23
<Hidden>Bad idea, won't change a thing people will still sweat and get bis, and sweats will have an even greater gear advantage

<Hidden>Instead of making a new suggestion I will add my thoughts to this one.
You would have 2 types of lobbies. Trade gear lobbies and none trade gear lobbies.
When you enter a none trade gear lobby, you go in with all none trade gear you got on you. If you have trade gear or no gear, you cannot enter. Any loot you pick up is flagged as none trade until it is traded OR until you enter a trade gear lobby with that equipment. When you take the equipment from none trade lobbies to trade lobbies, it is flagged as trade items and you can only use that equipment in trade lobbies.
This would create a loop where people would go into none trade lobbies with base kit, gear up a bit, and repeat. When they feel they have enough equipment or gold for equipment, they can take their chances in trade gear lobbies with the equipment they have acquired thus far. When they inevitably lose said gear, they would just go back to none trade lobbies and start the loop again.

<Hidden>I meant to say "If you have trade gear on, you cannot enter." It does not allow for edits. My bad.

<Hidden>i think this is a terrible idea, as an OCE player the playerbase is already struggling hard i think this will add another option for split lobbies and ruin it furthermore

<Hidden>This is the foundation for a future ssf mode. I see this as the only way to ever implement it into DaD.
