Add Knight class
make a knight class that can only wear plate armor and has a longsword mastery perk. It would be a melee only class and wouldn't be able to use other weapons like fighter.

or idk just use that stuff on a fighter no point in adding a class that basically already exists. -

<Hidden>This sounds like a dope character concept. I think a different shield like a kite shield (more oval and long than heater) as a base would be sick and fit the class type. No sprint ability, but skill that negates movement speed penalty, so you'll be as quick as a rogue for 15 seconds. This class type is needed as fighters basically have become rangers with plate armor.

<Hidden>I feel like this will be implemented with the Traits/Skill Tree in the future, it doesn't need another class to be honest since It's just copying Fighter and removing their ability to use other utility/weapons.

<Hidden>I think it might fix better as a Paladin than a Knight, which is other of the classic rpg class on D&D

<Hidden>Or call it paladin with aura based system where you switch aura depending on situation, with pucker like magic 5 slot. Could have two auras from skill select or some kind of skill, aura would buff you and allies. Perhaps could have mana based drain for duration of each aura, auras could have banners on his back to look cool

<Hidden>Im thinking if the devs go ham with the training system you can spec into a sort of subclass of fighter, that would be the knight. or even a paladin, or maybe the claric could get paladin

<Hidden>but keep in mind if you add another class rathen then it being a sub class, thats a whole new char that you have to level.

<Hidden>I don't see the point, you're basically nerfing fighter into not being able to do anything against ranger or casters, which is more than half of the game
fighter is already this, but has a chance against classes that beat him because he has ranged weapons -

<Hidden>I feel like fighter can already be a knight. Fighter can do what you are describing and has perks for it. I'm sure a longsword mastery perk would basically be the same as the sword mastery perk

<Hidden>I think a paladin would be what you’re looking for but with some cleric skills like smite and judgement but no spellcasting and full access to plate plus higher strength, and maybe a perk to buff the great sword

<Hidden>I think a Paladin/Guardian class would work better but im of the same mind. Removal of Fighters Defense Mastery Perk and Taunt skill, replace them with something new that makes fighter more what it should be (a versatile and adaptable class). They should make a true tanky front liner with a buffed Taunt to attract aggro and slow ms. Give em defense mastery and longsword mastery and the'yre ready for the dungeon.
