Add back alternative attacks for weapons by holding r-mouse button and then clicking l-mouse button
A lot of people miss freely usable special attacks, people say a good portion of avaible armament became way more boring - for example Halberd, which now only has three slashes and you cannot alternate between special and normal ones if you don't plan on blocking. Playing some of these weapons is just not the same anymore.
I was thinking about how could they be brought back, that would fit within the current keybinds and default inputs, where r-click is reserved for blocking and riposting.
The only logical solution and a very natural one that in handsight just seems so obvious, is to make this special attack usable when you click r-click, go into blocking stance and then click use the l-click to activate it./ It's similar to how you would shoot a gun in games, you press r-click to aim and then u fire with left button, but some melee games also have such a special attack.
It doesnt interfere with blocking at all, as riposte is still followed by a r-click and l-click is a free button while your'e holding a parry. Ofc you could use it very fast, like if you just click r-click and l-click almost at the same time, this attack can be done almost instantly without needing to stay in the blocking stance for long.
I think it would bring variety to weapons and a much more interesting melee gameplay with more possibilities. Well, I think that all weapons should get such a special attack if every weapon received a riposte, to follow with the spirit of this rework. It would make people happy that these attacks weren't removed.
I don't know about it's balance though, I think Riposte should be still slightly higher damage because it's harder to execute it, and special ones should be like more ways to hit people, but they could be balanced about their hardness to execute, etc. I leave balancing them to Ironmace, just wanted to share this idea that for me it would just feel very natural to use and fitting this game if they introduced it in this way.
